Let's make it.
5 stepsMake the cream
Whisk egg yolks and sugar in a bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler) until pale and thick, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Beat mascarpone until smooth and fold it into the egg mixture.
10 min
Whip the cream
Whip heavy cream to soft peaks and gently fold into the mascarpone mixture for a lighter, airier cream.
5 min
Prepare the coffee dip
Mix cooled espresso with coffee liqueur in a shallow bowl. Quickly dip each ladyfinger — just 1-2 seconds per side, do not soak completely.
5 min
Layer the tiramisù
Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a dish. Spread half the cream on top. Add a second layer of ladyfingers, then cover with remaining cream. Smooth the top.
5 min
Chill and serve
Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (overnight preferred). Before serving, dust generously with cocoa powder through a fine sieve.
4h+ chill
Cooking Tips
Use room temperature mascarpone to avoid lumps. Chill the tiramisù for at least 4 hours (overnight is best) for the flavors to meld beautifully.
